My name is Amy W., and I am a book addict. I will never forget the day I came home from junior high school to find my mom waiting for me with one of the Harlequin novels from my stash. As she was gearing up for the "you shouldn't be reading this" lecture, I told her the characters get married in the end. I'm just glad she didn't find the Bertrice Small book hidden in my closet. I have diverse reading tastes, evident by the wide array of genres on my Kindle. As I made the transition to an e-reader, I found myself worrying that something could happen to it. As a result, I am now the proud owner of four Kindles -- all different kinds, but plenty of back-ups! "Fifty Shades of Grey" gets high marks on my favorites list -- not for character development or dialogue (definitely not!), but because it blazed new ground for those of us who believe provocative fiction is more than just an explicit cover. Sylvia Day, Lexie Blake, and Kristin Hannah are some of my favorite authors. Speaking of diverse tastes, I also enjoy Dean Koontz, Iris Johansen, and J.A. Konrath. I’m always ready to discover new-to-me authors, especially when I toss in a palate cleanser that is much different than what I would normally read. Give me something with a well-defined storyline, add some suspense (or spice), and I am a happy reader. Give me a happily ever after, and I am downright giddy.

One of the best books I have ever read in n a long time! The story held my interest from beginning to end. The knowledge of the author is phenomenal in all aspects, from history, to landscapes, traditions, dress and more. I am currently reading Ms. Blasdell’s next book, “The Confederates Physician”, and I find it equally captivating. This author will be on my must read list from now on.

This is the continuing saga of Jennifer, the woman we grew to love from "Touch The Sky". I am so impressed by the detail to history as our protagonist finds herself in medieval times, dining with none other than King Henry VIII himself! We get to know Henry from a new perspective. We see the role of women and what they must learn in order to survive in this culture. We get to feel the continuing love connection between Jennifer, and Derek - one that defies time. I always learn so much from the works of Ms Blasdell. But this time, she went beyond past life experience/ time travel/history and even secular love! In this novel, she introduces us to a spiritual component that Jennifer is not even aware of. I don't want to give away any surprises, but you are going to love the ending!

Although the story of the Civil War has been told time and time again, we are introduced to the practice of medicine. How women were treated in that time although strong in their own right held to a standard that kept many from being as useful as they could be. Most stayed home making sure children were fed and the home was kept while the worry wore on them. This story shows us that that some women did fight beside their husbands and although this is a story of fiction it is one that shows the true grit that some women did poses. I enjoyed the book and hope that you will too.

Like you, I like to read many different types of books. I have read 3 of your books so far. You surprised me with your diversity. I stayed up past 2 AM to try and finish this last one. I have only done that with one other author, the man who wrote Shogun. You are good. I enjoyed this book more than I can say. Having run a company in a field that is usually a male dominated one I liked your female character. I hope to read many more of your works.
